Epilepsy

Epilepsy is when a sudden burst of electrical activity in the brain triggers a seizure. This means there is a temporary disruption in the way that messages are passed between brain cells.

One seizure does not mean your child has the condition. Epilepsy is when a child has recurrent seizures. In most cases, children can lead normal lives and some will grow out of the condition.
