About the Respiratory Medicine and Transitional Care Unit

The Respiratory Medicine and Transitional Care Unit has a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation and management of children with acute or chronic lung disease or complex respiratory conditions.

The unit also runs weekly cystic fibrosis clinics providing shared care with regional paediatricians and general practitioners whenever possible.

The respiratory function test laboratory provides routine spirometry and plethysmography, an infant lung-function service, polysomnographic evaluation of children with suspected sleep apnoea, respiratory muscle testing and includes an exercise laboratory and facilities for allergy skin tests.
