Paediatric Plastic Surgery Services have access to all the expertise and departments at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Most importantly when considering surgery is our close working relationship with the Department of Anaesthetics who are an integral part of the team when looking after your child from newborn on to childhood, adolescence and through to adulthood. We work closely with other specialist departments including Dermatology, Otolaryngology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics and General Surgery. We have the backing of enthusiastic and motivated nursing and junior medical staff all helping to deliver the highest level of clinical care when treating your child.
Paediatric Plastic Surgery Services have strong links with the Department of Dermatology which allows the combined management of general and specific dermatological conditions such as:
- Vascular malformations
- Congenital melanocitic neavi
- Epidermolysis Bullosa
We welcome referrals to Paediatric Plastic Surgery Services allowing you access to the next available appointment or directly to individual surgeons. All patients until the age of 18 can be treated at the Harris International Patient Centre and arrangements can be made for those who become adults during their treatment to continue treatment on an individual basis at other centres.
