The specialist Harris International Patient Centre was opened in 2005 and is part of a multi million pound redevelopment programme, designed to reflect the world class expertise that Great Ormond Street Hospital is internationally known for.

The Centre has 130 staff, working with over 170 clinicians in Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Located over three floors in the Octav Botnar Wing the facility offers:

  • Butterfly Ward

    • Mainly treating hematology/oncology and BMT patients.

    • Butterfly ward has 14 single patient rooms with four BMT isolation rooms.

  • Dragonfly is a four bedded daycare area within Butterfly.

  • Bumblebee Ward

    • A 16 bedded ward mainly treating neurology and surgical patients and other medical specialties.

    • Bumblebee Daycare is an eight bedded medical and surgical daycare ward.

  • Caterpillar outpatients

    • Six consulting rooms plus one isolation room for infectious patients.

    • A range of specialty clinics are run as well as specialist nurse led clinics.
