Research and publications

The unit carries out regular nursing and medical review and audit projects which are presented both nationally and internationally, as well as being submitted for publication.

In addition we carry out epidemiological research and contribute to multi centre studies. Besides other centres the department has particular research links with the University College London (UCL) Institute of Child Health (ICH), the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and University College London Hospitals.

Members of the department have a wide range of research interests in the field of paediatric orthopaedic disorders such as:

• hip dysplasia
• cerebral palsy
• bone dysplasias
• limb deformity correction
• spinal disorders affecting children and adolescents.
