The multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to a variety of complex and rare malformations is well established. It enables a comprehensive approach to the optimal management of patients and families, and provides the best immediate and long-term outcomes. It facilitates the patient journey and minimises the potential and avoidable complications.
The aims include the transition of these patients through adolescence into adulthood. To this end, the Cloacal Malformation Multidisciplinary Service (MDS) was set up at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in 2013. We aim to provide up to date information, quality care and an excellent patient journey.
