Links to national or international outcome measures

Where possible we use existing national or international measures to benchmark our clinical performance against other services.

The following link to national or international centres that benchmark services also provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Congenital heart disease website

The Central Cardiac Audit Database (CCAD) provides information about surgical and catheter procedures from congenital heart units across the UK.

It shows the number and types of procedure carried out each year at a national and individual hospital level. It also shows survival rates for the most common types of procedure.

Visit the Congenital heart disease website for more information.

Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet)

PICANet is an international clinical audit that collects information on children having intensive care in Britain and Ireland.

Clinical audit is a way of measuring the quality of care by looking at what happens to patients during and after their care and examining how the services that deliver that care are set up.

Every year PICANet publish a report including information on the numbers of children having care, the type of treatment they receive in each unit and the associated outcomes.

UK Cystic Fibrosis Registry

The UK Cystic Fibrosis Registry tracks the health of people with cystic fibrosis (CF) throughout the UK.

Its primary purpose is to help drive up the standard of clinical care by collecting clinical data from patient’s annual review appointment.

Each year this is analysed and a 'snapshot' of demographic and clinical outcome data is produced and published in their Annual Data Report.
