Consortium5 music performances in the Orangery

Bot playing an instrumentConsortium5 visited GOSH to play a morning of live music in the Orangery on the 12th of July 2006. This performance was very generously provided by Music in Hospitals with the kind support of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

Consortium5 playing in the OrangeryConsortuium 5 is a brilliant, award-winning recorder quintet of students who have recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. The group specialise in music from the 17th and 18th centuries – popular dance and folk tunes from all over Europe, ranging from slow and stately to quick and lively, with some virtuoso playing from ensemble members. Consortium5 also performed some arrangements of more recent musical styles, including an excellent version of Henry Mancini’s Pink Panther theme. The ensemble also encouraged the audience to take part and have a go at playing some instruments.
