Current exhibition - The Mittal Children’s Medical Centre

An informative display prepared by Llewelyn Davies Yeang [LDY] – the Architect and Design Team leader for Phase 2 of Great Ormond Street Hospital’s (GOSH) Redevelopment will be available to view in the Cardiac Link Corridor, Temporary Exhibition Space, from 26 May 2008.

Phase 2 of the Redevelopment includes The Mittal Children’s Medical Centre, comprising the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building [Phase 2A 2011/12] followed by a second New Clinical Building [Phase 2B – 2014/15]).

The display details the design intention for the various new environments that are being created and shows how the 2 new buildings – providing 31,500 m2 of modern clinical facilities, will allow the hospital to move all in-patients out of Southwood, as well as give better/expanded facilities for inpatients in Cardiac, Respiratory, Neurosciences, Immunology and Infectious Diseases.

In addition, the plans for an integrated arts, interior design and way finding programme along with visual concepts about the look of a new Restaurant – with courtyard garden will be on display.

The display is colourful and stimulating and full of fascinating images and facts which, presented together, give a great insight into the plans for the future of GOSH.  All hospital patients, staff and visitors are encouraged to visit the show.

Any feedback in relation to the plans for Phase 2 of Redevelopment are welcomed at redevelopment@gosh.nhs.uk
