Bumblebee Ward is mainly for neurology (brain) and surgical patients, although other conditions can be treated here too.
The children and young people on Bumblebee Ward are international and private patients.
Bumblebee Ward has 16 beds.
Patients on Bumblebee Ward range from newborn to 16 years old, although most are under eight.
Staff on the ward
Bumblebee Ward is mainly run by our team of nurses, who work closely with the doctors to help you get better.
Other staff who work on the ward include
physiotherapists, healthcare assistants, play specialists,
psychologists, dieticians, housekeeping staff and interpretors.

Bumblebee Ward treats patients from all over the world with serious medical conditions.
Facilities for children and young people
Bumblebee Ward has a playroom with lots of toys, games and crafts.
There is a play specialist who organises activities and can help you get ready for any procedures you may have in hospital.
You can also use the Activity Centre on the ground floor
of the Southwood Building, which has an outdoor area and a dedicated
room (the Den) for teenagers.
If you are well enough, you can have lessons at the hospital school, which is on the ground floor of the Southwood Building, next to the Activity Centre.
If you are not well enough to go to school, teachers can also come to Bumblebee Ward and give you lessons at the bedside.
