Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists work in places to do with health and sports.
Their job is to help people with the movement of their bodies. They help
with problems linked to bones, muscles, the heart, lungs and
circulation.
People may need to see a physiotherapist for a
number of reasons. They might have had an accident or be ill. Or it
might just be that they're getting old!
You'll find physiotherapists in most hospitals. They
work in lots of areas, from the outpatients department to the Intensive
Care Unit (ICU).
In the ICU they are needed to give chest
physiotherapy to help unconscious patients (patients who are not awake
and alert) to breathe.
