No waste

Waste is an ongoing problem in the NHS: money, time, resources – it can all be used better.

We know this. Working more efficiently means working safer, thinking differently. Everyone knows that there is less money about so it’s vital that we explore new ways to improve what we do and how we do it.

The Transformation programme isfocussed on getting the maximum out of limited resources in a safe and sustainable way through:

• Transforming care on your ward (TCOYW) – Aims to increase time spent on direct patient care and improves job satisfaction, staff morale and team working.

Annie Coen, Sister on Penguin ward, said:

“Improvement can be slow but we’re getting there and we’re proud of our achievements.

“We’ve realised that TCOYW isn’t just about releasing time from wasteful activities, but about safety too.

“We still have work to do, but that is the nature of Transformation – it’s about continuing improvement.”
