Commissions in the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building (MSCB)

The Morgan Stanley Clinical Building will be the second new clinical building at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to be completed in the redevelopment programme. It is due to open in 2012.

GO Create! MSCB facade
The Morgan Stanley Clinical Building will provide modern inpatient wards for children with acute conditions and chronic illnesses, state-of-the-art operating theatres and enhanced diagnostic facilities.

We are commissioning a series of artworks which relate to the new ward names (based on the theme of the natural world). These will complement the interiors and architecture of the new building.

The main locations for creative projects in the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building are:

  • patients journey to theatre
  • clinical circulation areas
  • the reception and play areas on each floor
  • staff areas on each floor

Photographing change

We have also commissioned a series of photographers to capture the changing face of GOSH as we undergo extensive redevelopment. They will record the changes to both the buildings and the people who make up our unique organisation.

You can see examples of photos taken by Polly Braden and Kevin Nicol on our Exhibitions page.
